Hurra, Hurra, Hurra! Emergency medicine is now a recognized specialty in Denmark. In the United Kingdom, particularly in 1972, 30 Consultant posts established as an experimental pilot, creating a new specialty in Accident and Emergency Medicine (RCEM history).
What can we learn from the emergency medicine reality in the United Kingdom? What is an emergency physician in the UK? What is the training like? What is it to work as a consultant or a trainee in an emergency room at a UK hospital? Where is emergency medicine as a specialty heading?
Come and join me as we discuss the topic of emergency medicine experience in UK and have an inside view of the emergency department there. I am keen to share and reflect on my own journey of how I worked as an Emergency consultant at St Mary’s Hospital in London and how you, as a professional, or the Danish medical system in general, can learn from this experience.
